Wednesday, November 26, 2008 Y 12:16 AM had international econs paper today. i think im so dead.. anw, prof limited us to only 4 pages but i think only wrote like 3.2 pages. haha. and some people had 4 full pages. super scary.. my paper: 1. why did the australian dollar plummet some 35% against USD recently? will this lead to a severe recession in australia? 2. along with the US and Japan, the EU is in recession. Can the European central bank restore growth? 3. should singapore continue holding USD as the main component of reserves? what are the benefits and the risks of doing so? 4. china appears to be able to exercise monetary policy and manage its exchange rate as well. does this mean that the yuan can one day be widely used as a reserve currency? 5. how do agricultural subsidies in developed countries distort intl trade? 6. do you think that the US has done enough to avoid a great depression? what else should be done/avoided? 7. should developing countries be allowed to continue protecting their industries? has much protection been beneficial to them? 8. the price of crude oil petroleum has fallen dramatically in recent months. why? can opec do something about it? - marketing paper tmr.. back to books ):
